I purchased this gun at an Albuquerque Gun Show without any grips. The backstrap had a stain on it that looked like acid or corrosion of some sort. I knew I was going to silver plate the gun so one piece ebony grips were chosen to contrast with the gun's finish.

The frame is screwless including the base pin screws and the hammer has been contoured slightly for a more elegant look.

The engraving is 3/4 plus coverage and the background is removed (chiseled out) before matting. This takes lots of time but gives that dark recessed look after inking.

The solid ebony case is Francolini Case #003 and is accented with engraved and silver plated hardware. The outside is covered with black cowhide which contrasts with the silver plated brass case plate. The inside has four compartments. Two have sterling silver Colt Dome knobs and two have ebony with sterling silver Rampant Colt accents. The gun and accessories are French fit in grey ultrasuede. Combination locks were used so you don't have to keep that key in one of the compartments and you can actually lock the case.

The inside lid graphic is Frank Schoonover's famous 1925 Colt poster "Tex & Patches".

This gun is unfired and unturned.

I've signed it "Francolini 2006" on the top of the front sight blade - more pictures to come...
